　Manabu Shibata, Chief Sustainability Officer (CSuO) of booost technologies Inc. (Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), will be speaking at the "Manufacturing Company GX Promotion Forum," hosted by Tokushima Prefecture and the Manufacturing Company GX Promotion Consortium on Thursday, November 7th, 2024. Booost Technologies supports the acceleration of corporate SX through its integrated SX platform, "Sustainability ERP*."

　Our CSuO, Manabu Shibata, will introduce the basics of Carbon Footprint (CFP) calculation, including an overview of CFP, fundamental calculation methods, and common challenges, during the session titled "Carbon Footprint Calculation Basics" from 13:40 to 14:50. Session Content:
　Achieving carbon neutrality requires collective efforts, not just from individual companies but also in reducing greenhouse gas emissions throughout the entire supply chain. To effectively promote emissions reductions, it is vital to develop a market that prioritizes decarbonized and low-carbon products. A critical first step in this process is to accurately quantify and visualize emissions at the product and service level, commonly referred to as Carbon Footprint (CFP).

　Furthermore, regulations related to Carbon Footprint (CFP) are becoming stricter, especially in Europe. Domestically, businesses are also experiencing increasing pressure from their partners to calculate and disclose their CFP. This presentation will provide an overview of CFP, outline the fundamental aspects of its calculation, and discuss common challenges companies encounter.

Speaker Profile：
　Manabu Shibata joined Kao Corporation in 1988, where he worked in the research department, gaining experience in developing production technologies for various products and their implementation in factories. He later transferred to Kao’s environmental management division, specializing in energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) management, plastics, life cycle assessment (LCA), and human rights initiatives. He has been involved in developing and implementing medium to long-term strategies, goal setting, and establishing and operating global management systems. Additionally, he managed external surveys and information disclosures, including those related to the CDP. Mr. Shibata is a member of several external committees that focus on climate change, the circular economy, and plastics, and he frequently presents at various external events. He has held the position of CSuO at our company since January 2023.

　The "booost Sustainability Cloud" is a comprehensive sustainability ERP platform that effectively manages corporate and supplier sustainability data while complying with international standards.
